School Garden

I really enjoyed my delicious sprouts picked from the school garden yesterday by Miss Turffrey and Mrs Sibbit and on my plate at tea time! Talk about fresh!

Apple Juice

Our Year 5 children made some delicious apple juice as an enterprise scheme. Apples were collected at school, taken to be made into juice at a local farm and sold at our Christmas Bazaar.

Football

I went to watch Watford play football on Saturday and this is the first match I have been to for years. I had forgotten how exciting a live game can be. Off course while I was there I couldn’t help but think of all the great activities and investigations you could do in school linked to football.
Which Uk cities have premier teams?
Which cities have 2 teams and why?
Which countries are represented in a team?
How many languages could be spoken in one game?
Who designs the kits?
How does the point system and league table work?
How far do people travel to watch their favourite team?
The opportunities for cross curricular teaching are endless!

The star cast of Nativity in the forest

A huge thank you to all the parents of our Year 1 children for your support over the last few weeks during the preparations for our production in the forest. The costumes were great and we really appreciated all your positive comments today. It was well worth all the effort and we are so proud of the children.DSCF5131

Nativity in the forest

If you want to experience something special, try an outside Nativity. We took the risk and the children were amazing, even in the fog!

Visit to the Houses of Parliment

The school council were invited to visit our local MP Richard Harrington today at the Houses of Parliament. The children had the opportunity to ask him lots of questions and we then had a guided tour around the beautiful old buildings. What an amazing experience and one I hope the children will remember for a long time.DSCF5005
