Watching an artist at work

Today we had the privilege of watching Stephen Lees create a fabulous painting for us in his studio on the cobbles in Lymington. We walk past his studio every time we are in Lymington and have purchased one of his paintings for our own house. We wanted to buy one of his paintings as a wedding gift for my sister in law and he suggested we went to watch him create it. It was so interesting watching the process develop and being able to contribute to content of the picture. The children loved getting involved and even had a go at spreading the base colour on the canvas. We were all delighted with the end result and will have lovely memories every time we look at the finished painting on the wall. If you are ever down in that neck of the woods, pop your head round the door and say hello. You will get a friendly and inspiring response. DSCF5269

Where is your favourite spot?

I had a lovely day today in Lymington with my family and this is our favourite spot on the slipway into the Lymington River. We all love our visits down to the sea and we sit here watching the boats coming and going. Do you have a favourite spot somewhere?DSCF5330

Wildlife Photography

We all enjoyed the visit last week from our wildlife photographer and hopefully he inspired our children to get outside with their cameras over the half term. If you have managed to get some good shots there are lots of competitions out there to enter. Try this one at bwpawards.org/wildpix
