The Lodge became a prayer space this week and the children were able to spend time thinking about the world and their place in it. All the wonderful activities gave the children an opportunity to be reflective and thoughtful. Thank you to the Watford Schools Trust for organising this special event.

The last lot of Year 1 children made their clay roses. I can’t wait till they are painted and put together to create a garden sculpture.
We had a really busy afternoon discovering how to identify British birds. We looked closely at the features and colours of the birds as well as listening to their different songs.
The children made bird mobiles, leaf birds which sat on our twig tree and they painted their bird boxes.
We had a fabulous afternoon orienteering around our school grounds. Thank you so much to our fantastic parent helpers.
We had a fabulous morning at Hatfield House meeting with the other schools who had taken part in the Wild@Herts Photographic project. We were very proud of the way our children shared their experiences with the other children and discussed what they had enjoyed most about the project. Iain is launching his exhibition of all the school projects this week which will be held at the Galleria for the next two weeks. Please go along during Half Term to see the fabulous photographs taken by our children. Thanks again to Iain for all his hard work organising these events. Follow Iain at @naturebygreen and watch out for a mention on Springwatch this week!
On Friday we had some special visitors! The children learnt all about these amazing birds and were a little surprised when they flew over their heads in the hall.
More Year 1 children moulded their clay to make roses. They rolled, twisted and pressed the clay to create the petals then joined them together.
We discussed how to draw a good map. The children mapped the school garden and set a treasure trail for their friends to find markers.
